Palais de Justice (1973)

The “Palace of Justice” is the Paris courthouse. It’s on the Île de la Cité not far from the Notre Dame cathedral. No, we weren’t in trouble; we were just visiting this building that includes the Sainte-Chappelle, the 13th century “Holy Chapel” famous for its stained glass windows. This “existing-light” photograph conveys some of the august solemnity of what was once an actual royal palace.
