Nojoqui Falls (2001)
Nojoqui Falls is in a Santa Barbara County (California) park in the Santa Ynez Valley. It’s about 10 kilometers from Solvang.
During the rainy winter the falls are a torrential sheet that has inspired expensive wall fountains (that’s most of what you’ll find if you type “Nojoqui Falls” into a search engine). During the summer the falls dwindle to a trickle. When I took this picture in May, the winter torrents had given way to moss and the water had a milky appearance. Looking straight up from the base of the falls with a wide-angle lens gives a somewhat surrealistic perspective.
