Neptune Fountain Putto (2012)

One of the figures on the Neptune Fountain, a replica of a 16th century Italian fountain in Malaga Cove Plaza, the civic center of Palos Verdes Estates, California.

This figure is a putto (“poo-toe”), a cherubic baby boy that was a common element in Italian Renaissance art. In his arms is a small dolphin. There are three other putti on the fountain, one on each corner of the central pedestal.
