Organ Pipes of Our Lady of the Angels (2011)

A few of the 6,019 pipes of the Dobson organ in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Downtown Los Angeles. Some of the pipes came from the organ in Saint Vibiana’s Cathedral. The top of the pipes is 26 meters above the Cathedral’s floor. The organ weighs 38 tonnes, and is encased in the distinctively colored cherry wood that architect José Rafael Moneo specified for all the woodwork in the Cathedral.
