Bradbury Building Skylight (2014)

The skylight ceiling above the 15-meter-high central atrium of the Bradbury Building. On a sunny Southern California day, the skylight invokes Victorian novelist Edward Bellamy’s description of an imagined 20th-century public building as “a vast hall full of light, received not alone from the windows on all sides, but from the dome.” The two towering structures are the open wrought-iron shafts for the building’s elevators.
