Korean Friendship Bell and Ringer (2002)
The Korean Friendship Bell in San Pedro, California. Visible on the bell is one of four pairs of figures, a “goddess of liberty” (based on the famous torch-bearing statue in New York Harbor) and a seonnyeo, a Korean spirit figure. The ceiling of the pavilion above the bell is painted with swirls, dragons, and geometrical figures in the traditional dancheong style.
