Reclining Faun (2007)

A reclining faun, one of the two bronze statues in the pool of the Getty Villa’s outer peristyle. Like all the Getty’s outdoor statuary, it’s a reproduction of a statue found at the Villa of the Papyri in Herculaneum. In the background is a section of the Villa’s formal gardens, including a pomegranate tree, a bronze “head of a woman with braided hair,” and part of a colonnade with painted walls.
