Mausoleum of the Julii (2000)

This monument at the entrance to the Roman city of Glanum, near Saint-Ré my de Provence, is a cenotaph (memorial without an actual tomb) dedicated by the three sons of Gaius Julius to their father and grandfather. Gaius and his father most likely were granted Roman citizenship by Julius Caesar, and accordingly took the name of his clan, the Julii.
