Tour Magne #1 (2000)

The Tour Magne (“great tower”) is at the top of Mont Cavalier, the highest point in Nîmes, at the north end of the Jardins de la Fontaine. A Roman extension of a Gaulish tower added in the 1st century BCE, it’s the only remnant of extensive Roman fortifications that included a wall and 30 similar towers.
