San Luis Obispo County is on California’s “Central
Coast” north of
Santa Barbara, roughly
half-way between Los Angeles and
San Francisco. The city of
San Luis Obispo makes a convenient base for visiting the county’s
attractions, including the Central Coast’s biggest tourist lodestone,
Hearst Castle. The county also has two scenic wine-producing regions that
invite leisurely exploration.
