Salton Sea (1998)
The shore of the Salton Sea, 69 meters below sea level in the Coachella Valley of southern California. Although the Salton Sea is a popular boating destination, I visited on a weekday when it was deserted. The air was hot and dusty, and the place struck me as rather desolate and forbidding.
