Licorice Moss at Point Vicente (2005)

Bamboo-like moss that smells like licorice grows wild in undeveloped areas of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Here it serves as foreground for a view of Point Vicente and its lighthouse from Point Vicente Park.

I used Paint Shop Pro X’s “Infrared Film” tool on what was originally a color picture. The tool simulates the look of infrared black and white film, known for its grainy high contrast and particularly for turning green vegetation a glowing white.
