Fence and Facade (2009)

At La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, California, the path from the parking lot to the main mission building parallels the wooden stake fence of a livestock pen. The building’s campanile (bell tower) is part of the wall enclosing the cemetery yard attached to the church.
