Sunken Garden and Old Jail (2003)

View from the Sunken Graden of the Santa Barbara Courthouse. The part of the building in the background was originally the county jail. It’s now used for offices because it’s far too small to accomodate today’s much larger criminal population. You can easily see the asymmetry (particularly in the placement of windows) that is a salient feature of William Mooser’s design for the courthouse.
