Fannette Island (2006)

An Ice Age glacier carved Emerald Bay, an appendage to Lake Tahoe. A piece of granite tough enough to resist the glacier became Fannette Island, Lake Tahoe’s only island. The square structure atop the island’s highest point is the ruin of a “tea house” built by the owner of a mansion on the shore across from the island.
